Forms & Guidelines
The nomination period is now open for the annual Superior Service Awards. It is the highest employee honor conferred by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Guidelines are located above. The Superior Service Awards recognize Texas A&M AgriLife Extension faculty and staff members who provide outstanding performance in Extension education or other outstanding service to the organization and to Texans.
Deadline: The deadline for nominations is by the end of business, October 17, 2022.
Nomination Procedure
The nomination process consists of nominee/nominator information, a nomination narrative, a summary paragraph, professional photo, and two commendation letters. Complete submission should be received via the nomination webform (links above) by 5 p.m. October 17, 2022. Please review the guidelines and webform early on in the nomination process to anticipate the needs of a complete nomination packet.
Eligibility
There are 12 Superior Service Award categories, each with a limit for number of awardees and associated eligibility requirements.
Nominees must be a full-time Texas A&M AgriLife employee who has held an Extension appointment or assignment for two years, as of September 1, 2022. Non-Texas A&M nominees can be included as part of a team award but are not eligible for award stipends or travel reimbursements.
Only an employee within Texas A&M AgriLife may submit Superior Service Award nominations.
Nominations should focus on the last two to five years of service (except for distinguished career, which should be at least 20 years). All nominations should reflect major accomplishments and impacts, especially those which address a critical need and rise above the expected standard of regular programming or organizational support.
Additional eligibility requirements are included in the nomination instructions.
Review and Selection Process
Once nominations are received and reviewed by the award administrator, a peer committee (Honor Awards Committee) will review and rank nomination packages and make recommendations to Agency Administration on final selection of awardees.
Awards Presentation
The 2022-2023 Awards will be presented at an awards ceremony (date and details to be announced). An award recipient receives a framed certificate and a monetary stipend ($500 for individual awards/$2,000 max for team awards to be split among the awardees).
