The nomination period is now open for the annual Superior Service Awards. It is the highest employee honor conferred by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Guidelines are located above. The Superior Service Awards recognize Texas A&M AgriLife Extension faculty and staff members who provide outstanding performance in Extension education or other outstanding service to the organization and to Texans.
Deadline: The deadline for nominations is by the end of business, October 22, 2021.
The nomination packet consists of an application form, a nomination narrative and two commendation letters. The packet should be submitted (in that order) as a single Adobe PDF attachment by 5 p.m. October 22, 2021, via e-mail to Extension@ag.tamu.edu
Save and download the nomination forms to your computer. Then, open and edit them in a PDF viewer such as Adobe Acrobat or the Google Chrome browser. Save the file before closing the PDF.
There are 11 Superior Service Award categories, each with a limit for number of awardees and associated eligibility requirements.
Nominees must be a full-time Texas A&M AgriLife employee who has held an Extension appointment or assignment for two years, as of September 1, 2021. Non-Texas A&M nominees can be included as part of a team award but are not eligible for award stipends or travel reimbursements.
Only an employee within Texas A&M AgriLife may submit Superior Service Award nominations.
Nominations should focus on the last two to five years of service (except for distinguished career, which should be at least 20 years). All nominations should reflect major accomplishments and impacts, especially those which address a critical need and rise above the expected standard of regular programming or organizational support.
Additional eligibility requirements are included in the nomination instructions.
Review and Selection Process
Once nominations are received and reviewed by the award administrator a peer committee (Honor Awards Committee) will review and rank nomination packages and make recommendations to Agency Administration on final selection of awardees.
The 2021-2022 Awards will be presented at a virtual ceremony in January 2022. An award recipient receives a framed certificate and a monetary stipend ($500 for individual awards/$2,000 max for team awards to be split among the awardees).
